"FORMULA ONE KOREAN GRAND PRIX"
Incorporating symbolized four black trigrams from Korean national flag into formula one machine,
F1 2012 Korean Grand Prix’s BI is emphasizing the image of Korea.
The official BI of F1 Korean Grand Prix is an attempt to show the essence of Korea in its design.
With the base color or red and black, a visualized formula one machine is placed on the upper-right side of the letter “KOREAN GRAND PRIX”.
The machine’s tire is to symbolize the four trigrams of Korean national flag “Taegeukgi” and the image actually inclined just as the flag is fluttering. At the same time, the image expresses the sense of speed emphasizing the very nature of the formula one racing.
(The four trigrams of Taegeukgi means sky, earth, moon and sun.)
The base color of red and black was selected through an opinion poll that these are the best color reminding formula one. The shape of the machine image is to show the sense of speed, and to incorporate the essence of Taegeukgi. As a result, the BI is representing the most global sports with the very Korean style elements.
